Type Neue

Typography has developed immensely throughout the century. Type has been a crucial stepping stone in the development of languages all over the world. Letters and characters have been created to form alphabets and utilities for communication.
Letters are basically shapes tied to a societal construct and inherited through different cultures to form a written language. They’re put together to create larger shapes. The funny thing about reading is that we are looking at words as complex shapes, that we have philosophically routed into our mind to tie to a certain definition, concept or meaning. This creates a certain “code” tied to a certain level of class in society, based on your upbringing and culture. Typography enhances this entire concept. The sole purpose of typography is to convey a message through shapes. The way the type is laid out is ultimately up to the typographer.
